The most obvious aspect of pregnancy is your growing baby bump. A little more each week, your skin stretches and while hormones are putting a little more pressure on your body’s production of natural oil, you’re going to need to step in.
Aside from being a lifelong-sufferer of eczema and dry skin, my body oil obsession has been in overdrive since finding out we were expecting. So instead of shelling out ridiculous amounts of money for minimal amounts of product, I decided to whip up my very own Belly Bars
Belly Bars are a mixture of organic butters, body oils, and essential oils hardened into a silicon mold. Check out my recipe below and show your belly bump some TLC!
- 2 cups of cocoa butter
- 1/4 cup of shea butter
- 1 tbsp of 45,000 i.u. vitamin e oil
- Pure tea tree, rose, and lavender essential oil mixture with jojoba as carrier oil
(This recipe fills 6 heart-shaped molds)
***Be advised that use of many essential oils are discouraged in early pregnancy and some throughout gestation. Consult with your doctor before using.
