After a long and tiring trip to Bali, Indonesia, it has taken me (my hair, skin, and nails more specifically) some time to recuperate. And with my 10-year high school reunion just around the corner, I needed a quick pick me up. The evening before heading back to Louisiana for a fun-filled weekended I snagged a spa pedicure and shellac manicure from local salon, Plush Nail Studio in Rice Village (Houston, TX).
Things I look for when visiting new nail salons are: accessibility (Houston traffic + parking can totally ruin a good experience), popularity (this one is tricky because you want reputable and experienced nail techs but without the hassle of long wait times), cleanliness, quality of service, and amenities (comfy chairs, drinks for customers, etc.). I visited on a Wednesday evening after work and was able to get a parking spot right in front and didn’t have to wait in line (check, check!). But as minor as this may sound, the salon doesn’t use the traditional spa/massage chairs (bit of a downer since I use pedicures as serious relaxation time). But the quality of their work was great (precise and attentive to detail) so I think I’ll be giving them a couple more visits before making this home for my nail needs.
Pedicure: PlushED includes a flower and lemon soak, sugar scrub, and paraffin treatment
Manicure: Cuccio Naturale in Texas Rose (completely obsessed with this color now)
