Skin Care 101

I’m a HUGE fan of Japanese and Korean skin care products. Geishas, for example, have spent centuries perfecting products and practices that meet extreme beauty standards so their products tend to be very effective. A few of these mixed in with some popular beauty staples and voila! – the perfect regimen:

Exfoliator: Boscia Tsubki oil-infused exfoliating powder (this product has been discontinued but can be found on shelves, BUY IT IF YOU FIND IT!). I use this 1-2 a week usually after a few days of wearing makeup.

Cleansing cream: Peter Thomas Roth water drench cloud cream cleanser. This product is a great way to restore moisture after the clarifying cleanse of an exfoliator.

Cleansing foam: Bio-Miracle organic brown rice cleansing foam. This inexpensive cleanser is great for nightly use.

Facial spray: Mario Badescu facial spray with aloe, herbs, and rosewater. Also used to restore moisture, I give my face a good spritz before applying the facial oil.

Facial oil: The Prestige 24k gold oil essence moisture layer (great $10 dupe for Tatcha’s gold camellia beauty oil that retails for about $100). Oils are great for sealing in moisture and helping makeup glide on with no caking.

Moisturizing cream: Hyaluronic acid hydrating PM cream. Used every night after a deep cleaning so that I wake up with a nice glow.
