Every year, there are a select few events that draw crowds of most fashionable people in the US. The process of attending is different for each but for the most part, it helps to plan far in advance. Here are a few of my favs:

Diner en Blanc (a major city near you): this super exclusive event started in Paris in 1988. Guest are added in 3 phases, starting with people who attended the previous year, then referrals, and finally with those on the general waitlist. The location is a secret until the day of and the required attire is all-white. Does it get more elaborate than that?!

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic (Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ): the VCPC is one of the most fashionable events of the year. Hosted by the renowned Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin (VCP) French champagne house, you get champagne, celebrity sightings, and fashion inspo for weeks to come! Of course, there’s the polo match, but the only real sport is guzzling bubbly!

Concours d’Elegance (various US cities): the name literally translates to “competition of elegance” – granted that was in reference to the car show but really, the people are the stars. This ode to a 17th-century French tradition is a trip back in time!

Kentucky Derby (Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY): release your inner southern belle in a bright sundress and your most extravagant hat! This 2-week series of events leading up to the race is sure to have something you’d enjoy!

New York Fashion Week – what’s an event list without the legendary NYFW?! This semi-annual event sets the pace for fashion trends across the globe and is the launchpad for many careers. Fashion shows, workshops, parties, and more – it’s perfect!
Of course all events have cancelled or gone virtual this year, but that just gives you time to plan your grand entrance next year!
